Common questions
Can't I find this on YouTube?
You can find parts of it on YouTube. That's usually the problem. The parts are everywhere. This course puts the process in order, so you're building a track instead of collecting tips. I say this as someone who puts a lot of Ableton content on YouTube.
I've never produced music before. Will I keep up?
Yes. The course is built for people starting from zero. You follow the process step by step, and every lesson tells you when you've done enough to move on.
What do I need?
Ableton Live 12 Standard or Suite, a computer, and a Splice account. Intro and Lite work for everything except the mastering section at the end, which uses EQ Eight and a couple of other stock devices those editions don't include. There are free VST alternatives, and I list them in the course. No extra hardware, no theory knowledge, no previous production experience.
Do I need Splice?
Yes. The course uses Splice to build the track out, through the Ableton integration. There's a 7 day free trial, which covers the whole course. Every sample you download during the trial is yours to keep, and you can subscribe afterwards if you want to.
